These medium size plantations are located at the Los Naranjos County, know for it’s great quality coffees, they have been owned by the Palomo family since 1900.
Altitude: Located on the AYECO MOUNTAIN, these plantations have their base, starting at 1,400 mts. Staring at 1,700 mts a deep natural forest makes the tip of the mountain.
Soil: These rich volcanic slopes, have been supplied by ash and rich nutrients from the volcano of Santa Ana for millennia.
Climate: With its elevation and being in El Salvador’s Mountains, on the slopes of the Santa Ana Volcano, Las Neblinas & California’s climate varies from foggy and humid during the rainy season to dry and cold during the dry season. Temperature ranges from a high of 33 C (91 F) and low of 17 C (62 F) during April to October, and from a high of 22 C (72 F) and a low of 7 C (44 F) during November to March.
Varieties: Las Neblinas & California have a diversity of varieties planted. Bourbon being the main one, Pacas, Catuai and some Pacamara.
Harvest Period: From January to March.
Production: Las Neblinas & California produce an average of 300,000 lbs of coffee per harvest.
